Jobos Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 What headphones are schools using? We will be looking to buy a class set soon and would like recommendations on something that would last. We got the last set 2 years ago and as they only cost £1.60 each I think we have done pretty well but expect to be paying more this time for headphones that are comfortable to wear and last longer.
elsiegee40 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Whatever is cheapest on Amazon, etc... It seems to make no difference to durability/childproofness what price we pay.
localzuk Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 We get these now - Headphones with microphone - KS1/2 ROBUST HEADPHONE BAG Hills Components UK Not had a single breakage in 2 years.

Coincidentally we have the same ones and over the last few months we've had loads break! we've had that model for about a year or so.
fiza Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 We get these now - Headphones with microphone - KS1/2 ROBUST HEADPHONE BAG Hills Components UK Not had a single breakage in 2 years. We use the same. Very robust.
Jobos Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 We get these now - Headphones with microphone - KS1/2 ROBUST HEADPHONE BAG Hills Components UK Not had a single breakage in 2 years. What sort of price do they sell for?
rad Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 If they are cheap they break, too good and they get nicked. Now we give up and dont bother issuing any from our IT office, I think the teachers have some, but even they cant look after them.
TechSupp Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 We have the Hills as well, robust yes, indestructible... no, but then again what is, but been the best choice so far, we are a primary and they get some stick but its all as usual getting staff to make sure they are looked after which is the major issue not kids breaking them or them failing.
Jobos Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks guys, I'll get a firm price from Hills on Monday then.
dhicks Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 What headphones are schools using? We're using TTS' headphones: Easi-Headphones® We have some of the analoug ones linked to above, and some of the USB version. So far they've proved robust and reliable - we have mostly younger children, up to year 8, and they seem to be doing okay with them. They are a bit more pricy than the Hills ones, though.
TechSupp Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Looked at tbe TTS ones but for the price dont think you can go far wrong with tbe Hills ones.
antlear Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 The Headphones already mentioned are fairly good. I have been buying these recently for the music department and when bought in bulk i have got them for around the £3.00 -£4.00 mark. They feel solid and are being used lots Numark HF125 Professional DJ Headphones
JRowley Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 We buy the cheapest we can find, I think the most recent were around the 60/70p mark.
