Meraki to start charging

This appeared in my inbox this morning. The gist is from 24 March new organisations with over 100 devices will have to pay. Existing users shouldn't be affected.

Today we are excited to announce a new product structure for Cisco Meraki Systems Manager (SM). We are streamlining Systems Manager from two products to a single product that will include all advanced features. SM Standard (free) and SM Enterprise (paid) will become Systems Manager.

 

What does this mean?

 

From March 24th onward, every new Systems Manager customer will be able to access features that were previously available only with SM Enterprise. There will be no cost for up to 100 devices, and as was previously the case with SM Standard, phone support will not be included.

 

Importantly, nothing will change for existing SM Standard users unless they want it to.

 

Existing SM Standard customers will be able to enroll an unlimited number of devices free of charge. As was the case before this announcement, they will not have access to phone support or new features.

 

How can existing SM Standard customers upgrade?

 

Currently users with fewer than 100 devices can convert from SM Standard to the new, fully-featured Systems Manager at no cost. However, we know that many customers plan to have more than 100 devices and would like access to advanced features and enterprise support.

 

To enable these existing users to take advantage of these benefits, we will offer a steep discount for those upgrading from SM Standard. This one-time promotional offer is running until June 2015.

No mention of how much its going to be? I suppose it would have to be somewhere in region of Lightspeed and other products in order to be competitive?

 

When Cisco took over Meraki couple of years ago they were always going to find a way to make it more profitable, obviously this is how they intend to do it.

 

Just glad I've already got our account setup and over 100 ipads enrolled.

Hmmm I didn't get any email like this, but does it mean we are going to be charged? Even if we are using standard version for quite sometime? I didn't understand when the passage says
