Well if you got into our alliance then you'd be pretty damn safe in our part of null - our alliance is with CVA so 95% of the people in local in any system are all blues so you've always got protection.. Only issue maybe(?) for you guys is that it's all NRDS, so you can't randomly pick fights unless they're red (tbf you do get a lot of red contacts here and there so it's not bad). My corp doesn't pay any rent or the like to our alliance, and we have access to 0/1% reprocessing citadels :)

Most 0.0 alliance's will "rent out" space to miners and the like, You can usually make a nice profit on top of your rent.

Huh. Nice to know.

If you train for a JF

I'm training for JF.

JF? :confused2:

Jump Freighter (The best of the best for hauling)

Ah yes, I remember discussing those with you.. I think Tarquin was heading for those, too, since he was mining focussed.

I think Tarquin was headed for the Capital mining ships... since the concept was, I'll haul and you mine. Though I could be mistaken (They're two completely different trees).

Either way, if we decide to restart I still need plans regarding the reformation of the Corp.

Actually that sounds about right.. I know I was using strip miners and mining barges(?) at the time.

Speaking of strip.. We'd best still have that certain 25mil corporation asset :p

Edit: And the most important ship in the game. That too.

I only borrowed some isk, everything else should be where it was in the hangars, I think I left enough to pay the bills for a few months (as it wasn't much for those).

I've got my main doing his usual combat skills still (almost at minmatar bs5 I believe) and my alt was still working on better skills for the orca.

Are you still in the League, Hal?

If so, we're at a good standing.

I think my alt is, I moved my main to a low sec pvp Corp for a bit. Then got bored/busy again and unsubbed.

I fully expect by now that the League is only us 3 (or some alts thereof) and quitters that haven't bothered to biomass.

Although if anyone did biomass it gives the corp all their stuff, so that's nice.

Free restricted accounts, or pay-monthly unrestricted accounts.. I think that's fair, personally. I see two things above all else putting people off EVE: 1) Its "spreadsheet simulator" reputation from yesteryear, and 2) The pay-monthly membership. This'll be a great idea to get people involved, but it's also going to spawn a tonne of alts depending on which skills are restricted and which skills aren't.

I might've bought membership yesterday :( Can't remember what on earth I was thinking prior to quitting but I definitely need to pick up all 5 accounts I think... if nothign else just to decide who I want to progress on.

I think the F2P model will work for EVE. The subscriber count has been going down for years, so I'm glad CCP are actually trying to do something about it. From what I've seen reaction-wise, it seems most of the players that don't like the idea of it are using alts as their argument but since the skills are locked to no more than cruisers I don't think it will actually increase the alt amount anyway (plus I doubt that issue can even get any worse!).

I'm a bit confused to how the free model works for characters with high SP though, if I logged in while on the free model will I not be able to use my skills or will I just not be able to train them?

From what I've read your skills that fall under the "Premium" category would be "Locked" until you reactivated your account.

I presume the limit of Freeplay would be T1 Cargo/Mining/Destroyers and not a huge amount more. Especially since Mining/Ratting is extremely profitable... giving preemium accounts access to AFKtars would be horrible for inflation since ratting gives flat ISK/H rather than based on the economy.

I really like how CCP have done it.

Its going to make the races relevant as the only skills you learn as an Alpha clone are relevant to that faction.

So Gallente, rail guns.

Amarr, lasers.

Caldari, missiles.

Minmatar, artillary.

However it does restrict you to frigates, destroyers, industrials and cruisers.

Here's the dev blog.

In rust we trust.

Still, you can do a lot of damage in a destroyer. I haven't looked into it 100% yet but the restrictions do look reasonable.

Honestly I think that's the best....

Destroyers + Frigates are wonderful for solo PvP... and the introduction of newer players will encourage them to venture into areas where they can be killed... or kill.

It's so frustrating to do solo PvP with everyone driving Ace Mastery Frigates that deal 1000+ DPS and instakill each other...

Having a whole bunch of people who have sub optimal loadouts but can play amongst themselves with seamless interaction between themselves and Premium players will only bolster our ranks... as well as providing a small boost to the economy as those cheap ships will finally be worth producing (Time to start buying them whilst they're cheap with my 20b+ ISK stack) ...

It's great for the economy, the scammers, the PvPers and the traders...

It also wouldn't surprise me if we saw entire corps based around Freemium PvP (waging war against other clans)... though the nature of EVE would suggest that the Premium Corps would take them out as quickly as they arrive.

Should be a good time to get the grips for the machine again.

So, I made a new account, dropped all ties with GSF (including history) and honestly going back to just one account is so nice. I've started fresh, no ISK or anything... keeping my alts training for high-sec antics and hauling as an individual party...

I joined BRAVE (yet another Null corp) and they're a few jumps out from GSF. So far life is very different, much more laid back, less foulmouthing and such. I figured it's been such a long time since I've actively played that it would be a very good idea to re-learn the entire game from fresh. So here I am, in the Null sec once again, no skills, no cash, no friends... And I'm loving it. I would like more BRAVE friends though... join me!

BRAVE was one of the original corps I was looking at joining, but they were having a lot of beef at the time so I decided against it.

Kind of want a fresh start. Kind of don't want to throw away everything I've done with Cyrinia/Tarquin..
