Novalee Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 So just experimenting with airserver. The mirroring works fine - but it won't play any videos (either recorded on ipad or from Youtube as exampels) - the screen just goes black with the mouse cursor. Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks.
fiza Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Similar issue : We get the video but it lags if its on the IPAD. If its streaming from youtube its fine.
Novalee Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Hmm - we can't do either. Youtube videos won't play on the iPad when it's mirroring (shows the airserver logo) - but maybe that's normal, if they simply play on the PC screen instead usually. However it doesn't do that either. Same goes for things recorded on the iPad. Very frustrating. Have been playing game on it and they seem to mirror fine.
fiza Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Our staff want to play video from the IPAD to show students on the screen. The video was recorded on the IPAD so not an option to play it directly on the PC.

It's just anything else which won't work now - not even trailers in the iTunes store? 1

Novalee Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 just updating Quicktime now to see if it makes a difference. Did it help @fiza?
Michael Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Make sure you're running a proper graphics driver, such as Intel HD Graphics and not the Windows default/basic driver. Makes all the difference rendering video.
fiza Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Did it help @fiza? At the Medhurst Microsoft seminar today so will be checking timorrow
mac_shinobi Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Think Air Server on windows has a list of pre reqs see here : AirServer | What pre-requisites are needed on my PC? Edited March 4, 2015 by mac_shinobi
kevin_lane Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 there is a new version of airserver on there website make sure you download it and install it as we had some issues trying to play youtube videos over ipad through a windows pc air play session once installed it worked 1
Novalee Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Graphics driver is Intel HD, have installed everything on the pre-requisite list. Youtube will mirror from in Safari, but not the app. Tried iPlayer. The sound goes over fine - sometimes the video plays, but is very jumpy, other times, black screen. Also tried TV Catchup app - screen is black, but sound is flawless. We have the most recent version of Airserver installed. I am so confused!!

Not a firewall issue either in built windows firewall or maybe a 3rd party from your installed anti virus solution that may be blocking traffic etc ? If you stop the av services for a few mins and try again , is it still the same ?

I used AirServer 3.0.26 (top of my head) and the latest iOS8.1.3 without any issues earlier this week. The first time kids see it... it's like wow to see their little faces, especially when you use the camera as a visualiser
clodhopper Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Do you have a proxy server set in IE / Chrome ?? I seem to remember we had problems back when we used a sideways proxy
