George R R Martin heading to the big screen?

IMDb lists "The Skin Trade" (from his werewolf novella) as in production but otherwise information is scarce. There's also been a lot of chatter about "In the Lost Lands" looking at Milla Jovovich to star.

 

The latter is set to adapt 3 unconnected short stories: In the Lost Lands (a woman on a quest to get the gift of shapeshifting), Bitterblooms (a girl is entranced by promises of escape from her harsh land) and The Lonely Songs of Laren Dorr ("There is a girl who goes between the worlds. She is gray-eyed and pale of skin, or so the story goes..."). "The Lonely Songs" is one of my favourite GRRM stories, but I'd suggest that anyone unfamiliar with it avoids news of the film as most sites give the entire plot away! I can see a way they could link the stories (the protagonist could be Laren Dorr in all of them) though this sort of film rarely seems to do well.

 

As the last time GRRM's work hit the big screen was 1987's "Nightflyers" (flawed, but had its moments) here's hoping he does better this time around - I'd love to see "Fevre Dream" adapted.
