ChrisH Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Well after some planning of how to get a more consistent use of staff codes and moving away from 2 to 3 letter staff codes and a special prefix for supply staff at the front (four digit code) I find out the following; Main SIMS supports 4 letter codes and Nova 6 will only let you put it in 3! Why is there this inconsistency! /rant off

ChrisH Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Well I must update this to say that it does only accept a 3 character code in SIMS as it lets you type in 4 then truncates it when you press save......
BKGarry Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 We use the format of first initial then first and last character of the surname of John Smith would be JSH and if there was a Jane Smith that Joined later they would be JST We are also looking at using the $ then the 2 initials in Nova and SIMS for this scenario but have not tested it yet, so the supply member of staff would be $JS
CAM Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I stick an X in front of my supply codes since I wasn't sure special characters were accepted and it is very unlikely anyone would have a first name of X (waiting for that to happen this year...). SIMS also seems to put the $ in front of the code anyway on cover.
