Hi

Ive just had a quote for a new SAN and 2 hosts to upgrade our vsphere environment and one place is proposing that LAN conectivity will be sharing the same 10gbe SFP+ link for the SAN connectivity.

Is this a normal thing to do or should the connections be split up? eg SFP for the Hosts to SAN then 10gbe Base-t (rj45) for the LAN networking?

Thanks

You wouldn't want iscsi and lan traffic on the same port / network. Unless your using a decent core switch you may want the iscsi traffic on dedicated switches as well, especially if you think your going to make heavy use of the 10gig connections.
