Hi all,

We've recently had an iPad returned to us by a member of staff. It was all setup through configurator and Meraki. I restored it through configurator for re-assignment and was met with the message that the iPad was currently linked to the previous member of staffs ID and to sign in order to us the iPad. Said member of staff is still here so I've gotten in touch with them about it. I'm presuming this is related to iCloud and Find my iPhone.

Is there anyway of stopping this happening in future? Do we have to make sure that anyone who has an iPad removes their iCloud account before we take it back? Can we disable iCloud through Meraki?

Thanks in advance.

Does Meraki have the same controls as Apples Profile Manager? I have these options via Profile Manager.

Also we get the Activation Lock override code

There is a disable activation lock button on Meraki but it just gives this - Error - Activation lock bypass code not found with Apple. Is activation lock already disabled?

I can get a code too...but can't see what to do with it?

It happened to me. Even if you manage the iPad, you will need the user to type his password to get pass the activation !

You have the option in meraki to bypass activation lock but it has to be done before you format the iPad (while the iPad is still linked to Meraki basically).

The same thing happened here. Member of staff left and the work iPhone was locked to iCloud details. We contacted Apple, sent proof of purchase and they was able to unlock it for us.
