DevilsAdvocate Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Hi all, We've recently had an iPad returned to us by a member of staff. It was all setup through configurator and Meraki. I restored it through configurator for re-assignment and was met with the message that the iPad was currently linked to the previous member of staffs ID and to sign in order to us the iPad. Said member of staff is still here so I've gotten in touch with them about it. I'm presuming this is related to iCloud and Find my iPhone. Is there anyway of stopping this happening in future? Do we have to make sure that anyone who has an iPad removes their iCloud account before we take it back? Can we disable iCloud through Meraki? Thanks in advance.

DevilsAdvocate Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) There is a disable activation lock button on Meraki but it just gives this - Error - Activation lock bypass code not found with Apple. steewy Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) It happened to me. Even if you manage the iPad, you will need the user to type his password to get pass the activation ! You have the option in meraki to bypass activation lock but it has to be done before you format the iPad (while the iPad is still linked to Meraki basically). Edited February 5, 2015 by steewy
itgeek1989 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 The same thing happened here. Member of staff left and the work iPhone was locked to iCloud details. We contacted Apple, sent proof of purchase and they was able to unlock it for us.

Marshall_IT Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 You need to contact apple, reply with proof of purchase and full out an email template. We've done around 30 of these now.
