Black screen with cursor only for one user!

My Win 7 server host machine has rebooted itself this morning. It has two users set up - the main account and an admin account. If I choose the admin account it logs in straight away with no problems. If I choose the main account, I get a black screen with cursor and can't do anything (even Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work). I get the same thing if I use safe mode - the main account just hangs. Any ideas what might be causing this and is there any way to repair the main account from the admin account?

Thank you,

Sue

I'd suggest deleting the user profile (well not exactly deleting)

As the administrator, go to c:\users and create a folder called Old Profiles. Move the affected user folder into here.

Open registry editor (run, regedit) Then browse to Local Machine, Software, Microsoft, Windows NT, Current Version, ProfileList. Click on the long numbers. On the right you should see which user it is for. Delete the one for the affected user. Be careful not to delete the logged on user one... hah!

See if that makes a difference?

Ended up logging in as the admin user, running a few maintenance checks then rebooting and it loaded straight away!
