It was just that the "Educational Software" forum has a description (see below) which implies that it is only for school software problems. I usually post things like this in the Downloads forum since it is actually something you have to download. Having a problem with the strange quirks which you encounter in many educational software titles? Here's the best place for an answer. Our geography department has used Google Earth for years, but after Google Earth Pro became free I installed it on all schools PCs. Before Pro was free I can't imagine many schools would have purchased licenses since they were about $400 each per year weren't they? Edited July 15, 2016 by Arthur

The company is promising "a first look at the brand new experience" for Google Earth at the 18 April event. That sounds like it could refer to a far more substantial overhaul of the entire user interface, rather than the addition of just one or two new features - and whatever Google has planned, it clearly believes the improvements are big enough to justify a standalone event. 1

Or perhaps when you go back from street view to aerial you may remain in the same county let alone the place you were just at? I do hope so

mavhc Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Just noticed on desktop versions that if you disable 3d buildings you get, at least around my area, much older imagery. Can't disable 3d on webearth. Still need to install the desktop version for doing actual work, not just browsing.
