Manny21555 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Hi All, I need to find a way of Teaching staff to save passwords on IE. I've looked around but cannot find anything that will work. In our school we have 22 classrooms with teaching staff logging on to most of them but is there a way for us to save passwords on IE to each pc for separate users(teachers policy)? Surely there must be a gpo that will allow us to save IE passwords for that users on different PC's. They all have Mandatory profiles and we are using Windows 7x64 bit & for IE verison 11.0.8 (KB2953522) Could anyone help? Cheers, Manny
Michael Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Well there's your problem - staff cannot save passwords as they're using mandatory (read only) profiles. So either give them new roaming profiles, or local profiles.
Manny21555 Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 I thought that was the issue - surely there is a way of saving it for staff ? which switching them to roaming..
Michael Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 The NTUSER.man file needs to be renamed to NTUSER.dat, but I'm sure you already know that
Manny21555 Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Yeah i know that is there another way of keeping .man profiles & saving the IE passwords? changing them all to roaming will take some time & testing
Michael Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 No you can't - each member of staff needs their own profile, with NTUSER.dat in place.
