Duplex mismatch and excessive late collisions

Forgive my ignorance with switches. I'm normally plug and play as everything has worked, but now im trying to get things to work better.

 

I have web access to my core switch ProCurve 2810-24G and into it is plugged our Cisco 1941 router, ( we have no control over the router as its supplied by bt and the Grid)

 

I have alerts coming up with half duplex mismatch and excessive late collisions on port 20 which is what the router was plugged into. I have quickly swapped it to port 22 which is the only free T(?) port we have left and the alerts have now moved over to that port. Port 20 and 22 is configured to auto.

 

Any ideas?

First instance, change the cable.

 

Secondly, speak to whoever own the router and tell them it's causing an issue. While they are inevitably taking 2 weeks to process this info, plug a laptop in and check the behaviour doesn't continue.

 

If it continues it's your problem, get on to HP, if nothing happens it's Grid's issue and they can fix it.

Had a look and changing the port on the switch setting to FD has cleared the error.

 

Mulicast Filtering IGMP is turned off on all the switches.

Spanning Tree is turned off on all the switches. ( Shouldnt this be turned on?)

Also none of the times are correct? what would be the correct setting for the SNTP server?
