featured_spectre Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 @Joanne my friend and I went to a gym, and they told us that they were going to turn the lights out (some sort of fire test for the emergency lights)...so my friend piped up "Then we shall lift in the dark"
sonofsanta Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Has anyone on this side of the Atlantic ever been brave enough to try peanut butter and jam? Can't quite bring myself to do it, because I am a sandwich wimp (cheese & jam is delicious though, obv. Just putting that out there.)
featured_spectre Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 "Peanut Butter and Jelly" is good...tried it when I was out there, but then it goes well with American bread which tastes like cake!!! Everything out there is so ridiculously sweet, and the only place to get proper unsweetened bread is an artisan bakery.
Joanne Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 Has anyone on this side of the Atlantic ever been brave enough to try peanut butter and jam? Can't quite bring myself to do it, because I am a sandwich wimp (cheese & jam is delicious though, obv. Just putting that out there.) Yes... it's good! Jam stops the dry, dry peanuttyness (yeah that's a word). @featured_spectre I tend to have my protein shake after the gym... I go for isolate 90 caramel macchiato flavour!
Oaktech Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Tea and dinner are 2 separate meals. FTFY * Beverage break should always be accompanied by some sort of baked goods.
unixman_again Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Dragging this thread back on track, the best snack ever is a G&T closely followed by DV&L (that's dry vermouth and lemonade).

Joanne Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 I don't think liquids count as a snack!
X-13 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I don't think liquids count as a snack! Soup is a liquid. Soup is a snack. Therefore liquids are snacks.
Joanne Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 Nawww I barely count soup as a food....
halbaradkenafin Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Soup is a liquid. Soup is a snack. Therefore liquids are snacks. Guiness is a liquid Guiness is a meal Therefore liquids are meals.
sonofsanta Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Guiness is a meal. QFT. Two pints of Guinness is about the same level as a Steakwich in terms of nutrition and filling...ness. IMHO, of course. For some reason, though, SMT frown on me bringing it in for a working lunch, despite my protestations of hygiene (no crumbs) and efficiency (can drink through a straw leaving two hands free to continue working).
