Hi All,

Can anyone please give me an explanation of how this computer ended up in my SOLUS 3?

Just installing SIMS on a laptop via SOLUS 3 and noticed a strange computer name in Environment > Agents > Agents

SOLUS 3.jpg

It isn't one of our computer names and we also have no Windows 8.1 pro clients on site!

What do I do? Just delete it? But how did it get there?

No remote access...

It doesn't show in AD either, only in SOLUS and only in Environment and Agents!

Could SOLUS pick up a visiting teachers laptop or something?

The IP is definitely from our WIFI VLAN probably given out by DHCP, it's offline in SOLUS and ping gives a timeout.

Should I just remove it in SOLUS? Anyone know how it would have got there?

Do you by any chance have a member of staff called Ruth Hamshar?

Not that I'm aware of! Nice shout though, I'll go and ask reception if anybody with that name or Rhamsha R or any combination has visited recently...

dont believe so if the agent is installed from the package created by SOLUS3 its fire and forget so to speak. which is how our staff laptops have SOLUS installed on them from this package, they just appear as the agent polls the server.

So, do you think this is possible then?

could be if the teacher has installed the agent / the agent has been installed on the laptop.

if the agent hasnt been installed then it cant appear in the agents list, anything on the network at the time can appear as a target iirc (not been using solus 3 that long and the interface is a little odd at times :) )
