Has anyone noticed an increase in the amount of spam over the last few weeks?

Myself and a few other people in the area have noticed we seem to be getting a lot more spam recently. Primarily from companies who have had their e-mail servers hacked recently.

finance department who I work along side had been targeted by quite a lot of fake banking emails in the last few weeks and multiple times a day they were getting emails from them

we are getting a lot of UK based spam recently - before the past few months, it was all hilariously bad foreign spam such as fake US Fed-Ex mails etc. Now it is all UK BACS, Royal Mail, Parcel Force fake spam that is a lot more convincing than before.

We have a Sophos web filter and the spam is sailing past. Tempted to get rid of it and put the open source ASSP back on.

Not at work, but I think Virgin have changed or removed their spam filters - I'm getting LOADS at home .

We get the odd one through via LGFL. I get the spam digest so I see what gets blocked by them and it seems to be quite a lot recently.
