Update one twitter account from four others...

Hi

 

Our science department has four different twitter feeds, Biology, Chemistry, Geology and Physics. What they want is a fifth account "Science" that automagically has the content updated/RT from the other four accounts. There is a good reason why btw

 

Had a quick look round but can't see anything that easily does this. Is this a faf or have a missed a simple tool that can do this?

And there's a few recipes on ifttt.com which allow auto-retweeting of other twitter accounts - that might be your best bet.

not used it myself but someone I know uses https://twitter.com/QueuedIt and posts the same stuff to a few accounts at once

Dunno about automagically...but couldn't they just add all the accounts to something like Tweetdeck in Chrome and RT them from there?

I'd be tempted to try ifttt.com as suggested by others. Great for automating this kind of thing on supported services.

If you have one person organise all of them Hootsuite might be the way to go. I know you say there is a good reason but it seems a bit of a pointless exercise, if one account shows all 3 of the other accounts do you really need them separate in the first place? Would Twitter Lists be any good?

The good reason:- Our website uses twitter heavily with a subject specific widget down the right hand side for every different subject. In science they want a merged feed on the home page for science and the specific subject feeds on the subsequent departmental pages.

I use tweetdeck which is web based and you can add in mutiple twitter accounts. You can post to all or one account, by simply choosing the which account you want to tweet from.
