Hello!

Is anyone else having the problem of just seeing red and yellow x's in place of the clip art thumbnails in Office? It seems to have happened all of a sudden and I'm not sure if Microsoft have changed the online URL for accessing the web clips...

Any idea how to solve this? I've tried all the usual stuff like emptying temporary internet files, repairing office, checking firewalls and re-installing to no avail. It does it on every workstation.

Screenshot attached.

Hope you can help!

I'm personally not having that issue, my computer seems fine I only have 1 computer that's doing that at the moment i cant seem to solve it. Its not previewing the images but you can select and insert the image's still. Could it be a Profile issue?

I've narrowed this down to IE settings being pushed using GPP. I just don't know which setting is doing it yet.

Could be a mismatch between the server admx files and the IE version on the PC I suppose.

I'll keep you posted.

It looks like Microsoft are now encrypting their clipart searches. Open IE settings and under the Advanced tab clear the option "Do not save encrypted pages to disk". After I cleared that option the previews worked again. Like me you may have that option pushed out via group policy so you may have to clear it there as well.

Hello,

As a new member I would like to say thanks for the help. Unticking Dont Save worked however I have a slight different issue after.

All but one thumbnail (Usually the first) display. I get the following icon on one thumbnail. images.jpg

I have tried changing from Only show Icon and not thumbnail but this does not work. When I right click and make available offline the thumbnail will then appear and another will disappear.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi all, thank you for this post - saved my clipart :)

to change this settings in group policy:

1. open your IE policy

2. go to: user config - preferences - control panel settings - Internet Settings

3. edit your Internet explorer settings (if none exists - create 1)

4. go to tab advanced and scroll down to the "Security" and untick "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"

do a gpupdate and its all good !

thanks!

Sean.

Sorry to bring this back to life. I've done this in GPP however students still can't load clip art, only staff. Their IE GPP settings are identical in every section...?
