Letters to parents re behaviour incidents

We are recording 'major' behaviour incidents on SIMs now, and would like to be able to print as near an automatic letter as possible to send to parents of children after each incident. Is there an existing option for this in SIMS? And if not, is there guidance somewhere on how to set up such a template?

InTouch allows you to send an email/text at the same time as recording the incident.

Thanks - sadly we don't have any 'extras', just the main package.

I'm hoping there's some instructions somewhere about setting up a template - presumably through reports? - that would allow us to open up a prepared document into which we might just need to add an explanation of the cause or something.

We have a standard letter that the admin team run every week. This then lists all the instances that week. if you wanted you could just get them to run it every night at the end of school.

 

Sorry its still not automatic, but works as a get by....

Thanks - as a primary school we have relatively few. I'm beginning to think that maybe we'll just have to stick with a separate Word form template for now.

You can configure Schoolcomms to automatically SMS behaviour (and achievements and assessment manager grades), no extra steps required when recording them in SIMS. If the parent has our smart phone app installed on their phone this is automatically sent as a push notification (free) instead and they can see a history of behaviours and achievements for their children on the app (or website).

 

This is more commonly used for more minor behaviour incidents though, for the major incidents SMS is usually not the best form of first contact...

you can easily create a report template for behaviour incidents - design your report template based on student, and then use the Student Conduct Information area to get the bits of the BI you want to share to parents.

 

Put a date filter on it so that you don't get repeats, and then just make sure your teachers record their comments appropriately, and you're done
