Home NAS Recommendation?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a home networked NAS? i'm looking for either 4 or 6TB.

 

Just want to consolidate all the external USB HDD that are currently attached to my father in laws pc.

Don't have a NAS at home myself but read good things about Synology.

+1 for Synology. I have a DS414 and love it.

 

Also QNAP are of similar quality.

QNAP good solid bits of kit, Synology also seem good but no personal experience.

I've tried Synology DS413J and a ReadyNas and can't speak highly enough of the Synology. No issues whatsoever in 3 years and the GUIi is fantastic.
