Though this may be because 16GB is a bit of overkill! Why does the above say it PC3-15000 and the one I picked does not Corsair 8GB DDR3 1866MHz Vengeance Kit - Intel Haswell - Ebuyer Presume they are just the same but with different cases.

m-wooffitt Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but I have found that the current games for PC that are also out on the next gen consoles require a GFX card that is equivalent to or better than the Nvidia GTX 680 range as a minimum requirement, and the recommended is the GTX 780 Range. as well as about 6GB of ram and the Intel i5 Processor or equivalent upward running at about 3.5GHz upwards. I found this out after getting AC Unity and Farcry 4 for Christmas and my current card is not man enough for the job! Hope this helps!

I'd be terrified to use that case - all it takes is one spillage, one brush-past with a conductive object, and boom! It's less a case, more a shelf 1

I'll probably work a hydro cooler into there somehow.. Maybe even go for one of the fancy lit ones with coloured tubes and fluids.. Not really a fan of steampunk, though.. Just don't like the look of it. Old-type tech does have a certain allure to it, but I often find it's way too over-the-top with cogs and pipes etc. PSU. You can cheap out on a case now and get a better one later. You don't want to buy a cheap [quality] PSU ever. Could not have put it better myself. I'd personally say go for a modular PSU as I'm a big one about cable management.. Never used to be, but recently, it's gonna look neat Statistics say you lose about 2% efficiency by going modular, but overall, it doesn't exactly matter.

Garacesh Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Mouse&Keyboard master race! I actually can't use controllers too well.. Especially in any FPS games where aim is critical. Tiny little analogue sticks just aren't good enough. And there's no adjustment of sensitivity on-the-fly.. With a mouse I can quickly move it to make my character turn 120 degrees, then fine-tune it by making small movements.. Can't really do that with analogue controllers. For games that don't involve aiming, though.. Even then I still prefer M&K most of the time. Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, Bastion, Spiral Knights.. I only really break out the controller for emulated older games. Racing games are okay for controller use too, I guess.

Most places won't even sell anything that's not Bronze rated (80% efficiency) but if you do find any, don't even give them a second look. They're likely to be filled with concrete. No, seriously. Again I'd recommend modular PSU over a non-modular one as it makes building the machine easier, plus cable management is easier. However it does mean you'll need to keep space in a drawer or something to keep the spare cables should you ever add new hardware (optical drive, more hard disks, etc)
