sonofsanta Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 AFAIK, publishers/developers set the prices they want in the Steam Sale ahead of time, and are encouraged towards 75% etc... so I'd say this is the publishers.
Garacesh Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I believe (though I can't verify my sources, just information I've heard) that Steam/Valve set a minimum price and devs get to set their own prices so long as it's higher. Though that minimum price thing might be minimum cut, which I guess is essentially the same thing.
haldarulon Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 GabeN after Summer Sales hahahahahahahaha! PMSL!
scotyboy56 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I am spending way to much on this, I currently have 6 new games downloading and it's only day 3!!
LeMarchand Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I have found a hitherto untapped reserve of willpower and bought: nothing! I realised that all the games that were in my self-imposed "afforadable" range were ones that would sit in the "to play one day" pile and would probably be available at much they same price when/if I ever got around to actually wanting to play them. So I thought I'd save myself a few quid.
localzuk Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I bought Salt, the Guild franchise pack and the Wolfenstein prequel. Was going to buy more but the discounts just werent worth it for how much I'd pay those games.
DMcGuigan Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I picked up This War of Mine, Valkyria Chronicles and Ziggurat. I've taken to only buying stuff if it's on my Wishlist now.
flyinghaggis Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) I picked up This War of Mine, Valkyria Chronicles and Ziggurat. I've taken to only buying stuff if it's on my Wishlist now. +! If I see a game I like the look of but don't want to buy straight away I usually add it to my wishlist and wait for it to appear on sale. How's 'This war of mine' by the way as that looks quite interesting? Edited June 14, 2015 by flyinghaggis
DMcGuigan Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 +! If I see a game I like the look of but don't want to buy straight away I usually add it to my wishlist and wait for it to appear on sale. How's 'This war of mine' by the way as that looks quite interesting? Stole food from an old couple and got chewed out by one of the members of my hideout for being a heartless pig. 10/10. I've got about 4 hours on it now, had a few close calls, but still got all my characters about 20 days in, great game so far. Good time management game through the day, and there's nothing worse than being half way through a raid for the sun to start coming up and you've got to sprint to the exit before you get stuck and end up with no idea how long it's going to take for you to get back, if at all you do. I'd definitely recommend it, good game for showing you just how much of a scum bag you are.
Garacesh Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 good game for showing you just how much of a scum bag you are. Sold.
haldarulon Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 couple of real bargains: Save 80% on Killer is Dead - Nightmare Edition on Steam looks good for the price of an ios game not bad! Save 95% on How to Survive on Steam HOW MUCH! of course I am going to buy the Storm Warning Edition!
flyinghaggis Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Missed the deal on this war of mine though I think I'll pick it up next time round as they usually re-run the offers . Haven't bought anything yet amazingly which is unusual for me when it comes to steam sales!

Garacesh Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Sales have been increasingly naff recently.. But here's hoping they break the trend.
