I installed updates today, is there somewhere separate to go for joystick configuration updates? Gone through all the settings but couldn't find anything. I hope it's just this ship, otherwise it's gonna drive me insane
localzuk Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Am I missing a setting somewhere, or does your first ship just handle like a dog? Trying to do the training missions but they're taking forever because even if I pull all the way back on the stick, it'll take a good 30 seconds to do one vertical rotation. By that point, the ship I'm chasing has looped round and gone the other side of me! Really frustrating. Its all about making sure your speed is in the blue bar when you're manoeuvring. If you're going too fast or too slow, your ship turns like a slug.

I used to call you that before!) If you manually configured your joystick, then no. However, if you used someones from the web, then just type in the name of E.D and your joystick name. It'll then bring up a list of pages for configs provided by other users. Most of the time, they update them. Mine was updated from Beta to Gamma and there were a few decent changes. If that doesn't help, 'noob cant fly, go uninstall' xD

Saw his piddly buttocks flying about like ............. tinchy stryder .............. don't ask. Got enough money for a hauler, now mining palladium and platinum. Only had a lil bit of time last night. I'm estimating a hourly income of.... 8... 18... 144..... yeah 144k. Once i get a cobra, it'll bump up to about 400k an hour. Believe me, find a PRISTINE asteroid, and you'll dabble yourself to death................. again dont ask.

I know it sounds stupid but I found after a while it's much more responsive with a bit of speed (been playing Strike Suit Zero where the exact opposite is true). Struggling to take out the sidewinder on the 4th/5th training mission but I'll get there. This game could seriously do with proper training missions, these ones are just tiny missions with very little help. I know there are YouTube videos but is there anything more boring than listening to hours of monotone "press this, then that" videos? 1

localzuk Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I tried the training missions via keyboard, then gamepad and finally joystick. I could barely control the ship via the first 2 methods. Joystick seems to be the best for me. Once I moved to a joystick, the "shoot this moving ship that shoots at you" mission was relatively easy.

Cleared my save too which put me in a slightly nicer starting system and there's less chance of Frontier banning me for having a ridiculous amount of credits.. Also @Sunnyknight, a bunch of stations wouldn't pay me for the bounties but only one station would.. so it might not necessarily be a bug. @ZeroHour was online all night!

I'm not doing anymore mining, did some trading in a maxed out hauler in a neighbouring system and was making around 20k per 12 minutes which is quite good so now I've switched to my OG viper and I'm planning on just upgrading that constantly and going back to being a bounty hunter. I think voice comms are even worse now than they were before which sucks.. constant dropping out and the modulation is even more intense now which makes it hard to hear the other person. Also lost a 20k bounty to the depths of bugtier, had to send a ticket to Frontier for that one.. Edited December 19, 2014 by Arreks

If you enjoyed the original games then you'll love this one, it's currently more or less a remake of Elite which is awesome - but they plan on adding more features in the future to make it more like a separate game rather than a reboot.

Dave John & I are fans of the earlier games and have been following development closely also I've been playing for a few hours now and so far so good! It's beautiful, MASSIVE and as much fun as the originals whilst feeling all shiny and new.
