Wii U Gamepad range

I got a Wii U the other day with a couple of local co-op/competitive games [super Mario 3d World and Mario Kart 8] and challenged my mum to Mario Kart when I get a pro controller.

 

 

I was planning on giving my mum the gamepad so she can play on that in the front room while I'm using my TV, but what's the range on it?

the gamepad with a screen I can JUST use it in my bedroom with the tv basically on the other side of the wall so about 10-15ft through a wall id say but it does drop now and again

Hard to tell without knowing what wireless signals are like in the house. My walls tend to block them so I can't venture out the room with the gamepad.

Just have to test it out mine will work in the garage, conservatory and on the upstairs landing, its too far for me to play in bed

I should point out this is the only Mario Kart I've ever played... I'm not that good.

Not great, my wii u is in the cupboard under the tv, it struggles sometimes if i'm sat on the sofa about 2-2.5m back... better with the door open

good quesion i actually havnt got a clue anymore lol where does it tell you who you are i know the wii used to have a number but not sure on wii u only time ive played online wa against random yanks

i keep seeing references to amiboo but what are they other than a way of getting a kirby helmet in mariokart 8?
