We've had a few calls just recently where teachers are saying (almost word for word) "OMFG my whiteboard doesn't work, it's just showing my wallpaper". As I'm sure most of you can guess, the desktop is set to extend rather than clone and a lot of the teachers don't seem to be able to handle that.

I've been looking into ways to control display cloning and extending via the command line and after much googling, I found this: Switch your display through the command line | Jeff Wouters's Blog

So my plan is, put "displayswitch.exe /clone" into a logout script so it'll set the displays back to cloning. If a teacher really wants to extend the desktop, they can but it won't mess it up for the next one.

I currently have several shortcuts with the various DisplaySwitch parameters on our teachers Start Menu's, but running it in a logoff script is a great idea since it's foolproof.

DisplaySwitch.exe /clone
DisplaySwitch.exe /extend
DisplaySwitch.exe /external
DisplaySwitch.exe /internal
