Hi

Anyone having the same problem, over the last couple of weeks since our move to SQL 2012 the SQL2012 service keeps stopping, office staff etc unable to login into SIMS until service is restarted. I suspect this is our poor old server grinding to a halt Dell poweredge T1800. Does anyone have a fix apart from new server?

Thanks

Not sure that the age of the server should make the service keep stopping - I'm assuming SQL server has just the one instance - i.e the one for SIMS?

I'd take a look in the servers logs to see if there is anything being reported that might give you a clue.

Check for errors, but in the interim, you could look at the properties of the service, and tell it to restart on failure in the recovery tab. This might help mitigate issues while you troubleshoot the cause.

Hi

Turns out that there was a bat file stopping the service, but not restarting it, file not updated when migrated over to SQL2012.

Thank you for the suggestions :)
