GPO not applying

We've had to move our SIMS installation to a new server. I've changed the drive mapping for staff by altering the GPP setting I had previously, and for most users this has worked. However, for some users the new setting hasn't applied. Any ideas why not or how I can enforce it?

have you got the gp set to update create or replace? id set it to replace see if that fixes it

+ one for setting it to replace. you can also test it on an individual machine by running GPupdate /force /sync. You may need to do runas /user domain/administrator "GPupdate /force /sync" Edited December 4, 2014 by bencole

Exactly what I've just done I've asked a couple of affected staff to retry it.

I cannot get GPP drive mapping to work properly for the life of me. Too unreliable.

 

I'm still using a 'Net Use' script. Works flawlessly.

From past experience, GPP drive mapping works really well and we try to steer away from scripts unless absolutely necessarily. Not only is is a much cleaner and recommended, it makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot with the likes of RSOP and GPresult.

 

Generally speaking, GPP drive mapping usually fail to apply when they've been set as user settings but applied to an OU of machines, or vice verse.
