paulvernon63 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 We have several c1765nfw printers which have been deployed via GPO from Print Management. They have, essentially, stopped working. The drivers are being deployed to 32 bit machines from a 64 bit 2008 R2 server but both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers are installed and available. If we install the drivers locally to machines the printer is OK. I've checked the drivers on the server are OK. I have installed the latest drivers, which appear to be the same version, but printing fails even from the server. I know there's not a lot to go on here but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Paul.
win Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 - restart the print spooler server - check printer preferences on the server - if all fails, delete printer & install it again 1
paulvernon63 Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Thanks. Sorry, might be missing something obvious ... what would you suggest I should check the printer preferences for? Paul.
minimoo Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Probably won't be this and i'll be way off here - but if this used to work and has only recently broken on a single pc, does the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\\Drivers\Version-3\ have the dependentfiles registry string populated?
win Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 - check if it's defaulting to A4 not letter - check it's the right paper tray - check the IP address is correct and not conflicting (ping the IP) - list in AD then install as network printer - go to \\print_server\printer_name and install this way if all fails, remove printer and reinstall (try a different and simple name).
