I have Office 365 at one of my schools.The staff have recently started to get the following error message when sending out emails:

Requested rejected your message to the following email.

(removed)

Requested gave this error:

Denied by policy.

Tried to search for a solution but struggling to make sense of the solutions given on Google. Any help would be very appreciated.

In your Exchange Admin centre, go to Mail Flow and see if there are any rules which may be causing the problem. Failing that, in the same area go to "Message Trace" and do a search on one of the senders who's been having issues. See if there is a message showing a more detailed reason as to why it was rejected.

Hi mightymrp, thanks so much for your help. I have checked the rules but there were none there. I have currently requested a message trace report for two users with know issues and I am awaiting for the report to be generated. Any other ideas meanwhile?

Have you recently done any work with creating different Address Book Policies? I separated our email accounts into a Staff and Student ABP, until I assigned users correctly I had a similar issue with emails not sending due to 'policy' errors. Other than that I'm not too sure?

Is there anything in common with the users having these problems? Maybe all recent starters or something?

Hmm.. have they entered the email addresses correctly and with the correct domain (not the .onmicrosoft.com one). I would cast an eye over what addresses have been added and see if something hasn't gone a little wrong.

Has the report come back yet on the message trace?

In the message trace report I searched for failed messages for the two users most commonly affected. Under recipient status the messages that failed show as removed@emailaddress##Receive, Fail;

Once again thanks for your help.
