Carter Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Well, good to know it's not just me and that it's something in the OS when bound to AD. I guess me building new images today & yesterday was for nothing haha. Hopefully Apple has a fix in due time.
Carter Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I've reported this to Apple as a Bug. This is random and so far there are a number of articles online about this. One fix seemed to be installing from OS X 10.10.1 to 10.10.2 by not using the App Store and by downloading the update manually and installing it yourself.
uktonyn Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 anyone tested 10.10.3 yet, this was due to fix the issue. Tony N
Carter Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I actually haven't seen the issue for a good week now and the computers are still running 10.10.2. I've actually been wanting it to happen as Apple wants me to output a report to send in. I wonder if a security update fixed something prior to 10.10.3? .
Carter Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Guess I spoke/posted too soon. Just now found a Mac with the Grey locked up boot screen. As Apple requested I ran a "sysdiagnose" and sent them the needed output file. Will see what their response is. .
3s-gtech Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Started with 10.10.3 today, seems to be helping with the startup issue. Also slapping SSDs into our older C2D Macs which transforms them, just labour intensive!
pixellip Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Yosemite feels better after that 10.10.3 update there's no doubt about it......all the Macs are working fine we had problems with.
Carter Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Updated a couple of the test computers in our commons to see if we get the issue again.
rob998 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Updated a suite to 10.10.3 - not start up problems so far....fingers crossed!
Carter Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'll give it a good two weeks before I can say 10.10.3 fixed the issue. I've had a number of computers go weeks without an issues running 10.10.2 with daily use. .
