About uktonyn

  1. you don't really want to chain network Switches unless they are designed to do it with some sort of stacking facility. In which case the "stack is seen as a single entitiy. I would advise to use a core. What switches are they? Tony N
  2. We use TMG on our old intranet for Outside and inside authentication and load balancing to two Web front ends on a SharePoint Farm. Any one suggest something that can do the same job for our new SharePoint farm? Tony N
  3. We have just added two HP1920 48G Switches to our network, which is managed by HP PCM+ V4.0. My issue is that when I run a manual discovery on the new switches the first one is discovered correctly, but the second one "overwrites" the first one's info name etc, but it does not change the IP address from the first switch. As an end result the PCM only see's one 1920 - which has the name of the second switch and the IP address of the first switch anyone any thoughts (I do have enough licenses) Tony N
  4. Can anyone recommend a Dry Wipe Whiteboard that is suitable for projection as well. Seen a few on the web, just wanted to check if anyone had some first hand experience. Many Thanks Tony N
  5. We have around 50 - as long as you set the network up and use IGMP snooping should not be an issue
  6. anyone tested 10.10.3 yet, this was due to fix the issue. Tony N

    Yosemite upgrade

There is an issue when you bind the iMac to AD and the machine is "Hard Shutdown" People seem to be waiting for Apple to fix it We have reverted back to Mavericks
  8. Are these machines bound to AD - This causes an issue if the unit has had a "Hard Shutdown". We have had to revert back to Mavericks.
  9. Have installed latest drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers - still no joy.
  10. We have a 2008 R2 server that has lost network connectivity. The network adaptors are showing but the network connections wil not come up. If you interogate the interfaces using ipconfig, they system does not display any interfaces. The event log shows cable in and outs, and the Broadcom Manager shows the layer 2 working, and the cable tests fine. I have rest Winsock but the system will not see the interfaces to make a network connection. All the hardware tests I have run show no errors. We have installed a 2nd card, exactly the same issue. Any thoughts Tony N
