was going to add that there were free ones available having looked at them for our school before.

No discernible difference to me between them both having looked at it at a glance

Some members of our SEN department like it, hence it's available throughout our school for use. Some however find it even more distracting than the standard fonts (trialled opendyslexia plugin for Chrome for our dyslexic head of SEN and she didn't get on with it at all well). It would appear that dyslexia isn't a particularly tight label.

I've installed this (the free one, anyway) for some staff that are dyslexic and they seem to love it, plus - ANYthing that prevents the use of Comic Sans is a good thing in my book.

As a dyslexic I took a quick look at it myself and it didn't make any difference, if anything I find it harder to read that normal fonts.

The problem with dyslexia is that something that works for 1 person doesn't work for another.

We tested OpenDyslexic a few years ago and responses (among the dyslexic people here) ranged from "that's actually worse" through "no difference" to "maybe a bit better".

But everyone who isn't dyslexic finds it hard going to get through if they have to read a document written in it.

I don't find it difficult to read at all, and I'm not lysdexic* dyslexic. At very small font sizes the thin strokes at the top get a little complicated, but that happens with all thin fonts.

Maybe I'm just able to interpret written text better? (or more able to interpret things that aren't written text as written text.. or.. you get the picture)

* legitimately typed that. Oh, the irony.

Dyslexia and Meares-Irlen Syndrome are not one size fits all - hence why well intentioned things like printing everything on yellow paper can make matters worse for some people - the shade has to be quite specific. It's no surprise that this font works for some people and not for others.
