As stated above TSG with then a secondary tool would work great.

 

We use Dameware remote control. It's not free, but if I remember correctly it's licensed by operators rather then total staff, so you'd only need licenses for your admins.

 

Yes you would need CALs for your TSG...but as this would be used as an "admin portal" I'm guessing you can get away with a very low number of CALs?

Dameware Remote COntrol - isnt that based on VNC - ie not like TeamViewer were you can control over the internet ?

It does but I just tried it and it couldn't authenticate and give me an ID sadly :(

 

Oh I got it to work on Server 2012... Seems ok. - Works on 8.1 also.

I must admit we only use it internally but as far as I know it can be used across the internet. But we come in via TSG then once on the internal network we remote over for fault fixing
