@witch If you disable the printer script and log on as a user do you have any printers as was thinking the printers might already be in the profile?

But as I said, the printer script is the same as it was other than the extra line.

If I disable the printer script then no, they don't get any printers - I did think of that

(There is a delete printer on logoff script which is working)

Ricoh say as you can add the printer manually it isn't their issue.

I might try using GP again - we used to but it proved a bit flaky so we went back to scripts.

Try running it from NETLOGON for std users

Ricoh have helped me change the driver to a universal one so it is now signed so that shouldn't be an issue.

Still doesn't work though

Sent a PM - forgot to mention, I presume on the server printer que , under the shared tab you have installed and added the drivers that the clients will use ?

As a last resort you could try GPP again...

It might work better than it did before as we have all Windows 7 now, no XP left.

last resort install via script using rundll32 printui? or use that to put the driver onto the machine and then add the Q (if you havent already tried this?)

Have you tried using Deploy Printer to GPO under Printer Management?

the gpp method is much better with win7 than it ever was with winxp as is printer management as that on xp needed you to run pushprinterconnections.exe for it to work I seem to recall (just be aware printer management isn't installed on your server by default so you may need to add it as a role before you can see the setting in group policy

Right

I reviewed all my scripts and still couldn't see what was wrong with them other than one which was missing the loopback.

So I deleted and recreated the group policies - and now they work

Getting the other drivers in was a pain too - the latest universal drivers would NOT go in and I had to go back to an earlier version to get it done.

Hopefully it is sorted now - on Monday the staff are going to be told how to use it and I have to work out how to get reports on who is printing what - without it becoming my job
