MattDLEA Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I've nearly got all my monitors in place that I need to keep me happy. PRTG on my work computers on site monitoring servers and network drives which is brilliant > I get an email if something is going wrong. However I cant monitor if the internet connection is down as the software in located inside the network, so it would alert but would not be able to email me. which is no good. So I need something that is cloud based or even that I could put on my website that could ping my work server or would the router be better? from outside so I'm alerted if NGFL goes down? Free would be nice
fairm010 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I use UptimeRobot to poll our internally hosted websites every 15 minutes. Mine is set to email me but it can DM you on twitter. You can build with it using its API too. https://uptimerobot.com/
