Backup Exec 2014

Hi All

We are using Backup Exec 2010 and thinking of moving to 2014, anybody using this , if so any thoughts info appreciated. We have a mixture of physical and VMWare servers we need to protect.

We've got the upgrade to do, but haven't done it yet. What exactly did you want to know?

Just looking for anyones experience from moving from 2010 to 2014 really. I didn't go to 2012 as there appeared to be alot of problems with it. As for 2014 how easy is it to use after being used to 2010, anything unexpected bad/good.

Just trying to get an overall view before I download the trial and give it a go.

Yep moved 2010 to 2014, most have been new installs and then re-make the jobs but one of our sites did the inplace upgrade, it worked ok and its fine he hates it compared to 2010, i don't mind it compared to 2010 but I think the guy whos site has been upgraded didn't have many jobs so the new layout is a bit more time consuming for him where as I've got too many jobs so its new views are quicker for me.

 

Think of 2014 as very server / system centric VS the old one which was job centric, but yep been using it since it came out in test before production and its a good upgrade, as you said 2012 was evil they took too many things away like job monitor (as no one would ever quickly want to see if something was running right?!) but they undid the stupidity in 2014 and its been great.
