HP Storage Works G2 Autoloader

Sat in the rack unused since I have taken over. Anybody else use one? What are your methodologies on backing up from it?

Did you ever set your autoloader up? Did it work?

 

I'm having a spot of bother with mine (HP 1/8 G2 Autoloader).

We have one of these brought it not long ago and seemed to setup fine...

 

I am having a bit of trouble with the tapes. i think it is the software though. I setup the media for a two week rolling program and it seems to be moving the tapes around and overwriting the wrong days?

 

anyone else having this trouble?

Wow, it's funny you should say that because I've been struggling to find out why ours picks on random tapes to write to. I've set it up as 'automatic', 'sequential' and to 'loop' the tapes but the last jobs went to tape 5 then 8 and the latest one is on 7. It makes no sense to me and I can't figure out why it's not going from 1 to 2 to 3 etc.
