choran Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I have had a problem on my windows 2003- server xp-ststion network for a week. Staff getting a message on login that 'roaming profile is not available' Then it cannot find a local profile and sets up a temporary one. Staff the have to set up email etc at each login. Where I have deleted local profiles they are not recreated. Have checked folder permissions and tried deleting server profiles for a few people. It is possible someone changed permissions somewhere - can say no more.
andyrite Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Make sure the system account has permissions on the folder as well. Have you checked the drive with the users home folders are located? Check if the system account has permissions there as well.
kentt Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Is it possible you have cleared/deleted the "Default User" profile of your client PC when clearing pfofiles?
choran Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 no, but I think I may have fixed it by giving everyone full permissions on the server profiles folder and propagating that down to all sub-folders and files. thanks
