Some of you who follow SharePoint new on twitter may have seen the sad news that Dave Coleman @davecoleman146 has passed away. His wife announced that he passed away yesterday morning. He had been battling with a long term illness for some time, but it is still a shock to family and friends.

Although a lurker on EduGeek he presented to EG members on a regular basis at events at the Microsoft Offices in Reading, as well as SharePoint events across the country.

Many will know him from SharePointEduTech or from Twynham school, and he will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Thanks for letting us know Tony.

I spoke to Dave on a couple of occasions via telephone but never met him in person - he seemed a great knowledgeable guy.

As said on facebook he will be missed by many and he touched many peoples lives. Meet him a few times at conferences and shows and he will be sadly missed..

Dave's funeral will be held on Wed 12th Nov at 2pm at Bournemouth crematorium. We will welcome anyone who wishes to attend. A donation page has been set up for Prostate Cancer UK and the link will follow later. We decided that Dave wasn't a flower man but he enjoyed raising money for the charity.....£1500 raised so far but his personal goal was £5000.

A few of his SharePoint friends have now committed to Movember in his memory and to help do more to raise money for cancer research.
