AnnDroyd Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Currently doing our September upgrade on a system already migrated to SQL 2005. The server's been showing the database upgrade tool window in a semi-hung, non-responding way for about 30 minutes now. Is this normal or should I decelare it broken, reboot the server and start again?
bossman Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Sorry to mention at such a late date but i was informed by our LEA to skip September upgrade and just do the November as the September one kind of cocked things up.
zag Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Should be nothing wrong with the September update, we ran it fine. But the SQL 2005 upgrade caused our backups to become very slow. This could explain why its taking so long.

After must cursing we rolled it back and got our LEA to pester Capita to fix it. Second time, it ran without much of a hitch and took around 20 minutes start to finish.
tech_guy Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 We did the Sept upgrade & it went like clockwork. Backing up now slow though. Still waiting to be told when we are doing the November update - there's nothing on Solus yet.
