[sims] SIMS Primary or Main email address?

Can someone advise when inputting parents email addresses in to sims under what conditions would you tag one as; MAIN or PRIMARY?

Main is the main one as you'd want it, but I think it allows one main per type or some weird complication.

 

Primary was introduced when InTouch was launched and really confuses things. It's best to check the manual. If you're not an InTouch user you can decide how it best fits with what you want/need.

Looks like each contact can have one main email address per type - ie. multiple home or work emails but only ONE main one.

 

Then from all the emails listed against a contact there can be only ONE primary

Everyone finds this confusing, I appreciate they're trying to cater for a lot of different needs but as far as I can see it needs simplifying.

The multiple main was a killer, and required some taxing fiddling to get right in the report for data update. In the end we ignored it and asked the parents to just tick which should be main every time.
