£66bn - I just hope the OFT do not allow an alliance to be formed under a JV company to upgrade the "Pipework"

There will be holes everywhere and no one to complain too!

Moved to IT News forum, seems better here :D

Its the usual with ISP's, they refuse to pony up the cash until they REALLY need to. Everyone seems to think ISP's are going broke or something. They RAKE it in from us. Tiscali just halved their monthly costs and they will still make a profit (to primarily compete with Sky) so how much were they milking us for before.

South Korea has 100mb to home in places as does Sweden I believe and their ISP industry is not going broke. Its dirt cheap for internet there so how do UK ISPs claim they struggle so much to make ends meet due to our abuse of bandwith....

Starting to wonder if some BBC journo type picked up something from the USA and then applied it globally as if the USA is the internet... Ooh that old chestnut.. :p

Know what you mean though...

Bloody BT again with their monopoly - holding the country back with an antiquated network built from pairs of copper wire running for god knows how far that only guarantees analog voice.
