Hi All,

Any SIMS guru know what this error means in reasonably plain English...?

I have no clue what 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' means!

If it is a persistent error and happens every time you do the same thing, then it's likely to be a software fault.

Try reinstalling SIMS.Net on your workstation and see if it helps.

Usually it means the workstation element hasn't fully upgraded.

I'd try the following:

Since it is an error on the Census make sure the latest fileset is imported and the user has returns manager access.

Delete the SIMS .net folder on the local machine and re-install SIMS to that workstation.

Capita released an updated fileset on the 30th sept - have you imported those? There was also a database patch iirc.

Check that the scaling of the onscreen items is set to Smaller - 100%.

How ridiculous!

Doesn't help that our admin lady is as blind as a bat!
