Sophos here, wish it wasn't so cheap through the LEA so I could use something else. ESET runs rings around it for speed and resource frugality.

We're using Panda, it's not amazing but it does the job and we've had no complaints.

I had Sophos 5 years ago which had a big mem footprint but loved the console.. moved to ESET and it was fine but the console was awful, now using Vipre.... console is good and small memory footprint... very basic for end user.

Strongly recommend Kaspersky and also recommend you avoid Sophos. We had Sophos for a year and constantly had users bring their virus infected machines into us. Swapped to Kaspersky and we haven't had a laptop go down due to malware for almost 18 months now.

No problems with Sophos here in 5 years, although it's cheap enough I'd like something even cheaper - remember that av is just another line of defence, good software restriction and usb restriction policies go a long way to helping too Edited October 2, 2014 by caffrey

Have used Norton, AVG, Avast and now using Vipre. Will be renewing out Vipre for another 3 years when license runs out. Avast was ok but management console wasn't the easiest, AVG seemed to get very bloated and slow computers down like norton used to.

Used Sophos for a long time and have a kind of Love/Hate thing with it.

 

When everything is running fine its great, but if you have an issue it turns into a nightmare. Console upgrades are a huge PITA and always a problem.

 

I am currently in the middle of a migration from SCCM 2007 -> 2012 so am trying out SCEP which so far has been great and will probably move everything over to that in due course.
