Bit of an odd one.

A HP M401DN printer which is networked. The printer has just been moved office so likely I have made a mistake somewhere in the set up.

When anyone prints to it, the jobs pause immediately. Right clicking the print job and telling it to resume solves the problem and it prints normally. But not sure why it's pausing initially. It is using HP Universal driver PCL5. I've tried PCL6 but no difference.

Thanks in advance of advice!

Sounds like a setting needs changing on the printer itself. Perhaps check the usual stuff like A4 and default tray number. Also select auto-recovery if disabled

Thanks @win - I have cheated a little bit by telling it to print direct rather than spooling given only 2 people use the printer. I have checked all of what you mentioned and all seems to be correct.

If only 2 people use it then perhaps install the printer using local IP install rather than the network print server. At least you'll know if it's a print server setting or a local setting.
