synaesthesia Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 It's true! It wont be as bad as it sounds for them - data deduplication and compression, especially with stuff from schools will make a terabyte of data look comparitively tiny

We signed up to Office independently... Oh and another thing to mention, currently the OneDrive client only supports files less than 2GB in size and less than 50,000 files. Hopefully they'll look at this next.

At the moment, we're telling our users to treat it as a giant memory stick. Keep your "primary" copy of stuff on your network area but put anything that you want to work on at home into OneDrive. No matter how huge a space, having one copy of anything is a bad idea™. In any case, you can't back OneDrive up so having a network area for your users is still the way to go.

OneDrive now supports 10gb file uploads, and according to the OneDrive blog they're brining that to OneDrive for Business "soon"

witch Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) We signed up independently too but that is what I was told when on a microsoft support call. How do I see how much space a user's One Drive is? Is it the Sharepoint site that is smaller? Our staff couldnt upload to it last week as it said it was full and I had to go in as admin and change the amount of space between the various bits (sorry to be vague but I am in the wrong school and have plainly forgotten the admin login ) Edited September 23, 2014 by witch
