zclark Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Hi Guys, I'm having problems getting SIMS onto a machine (Windows 7 32bit, on the domain) via SOLUS3. Windows Firewalls are off as is UAC, but I am still getting the error message 'Agent installer completed but the agent is not installed' in SOLUS3. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
randle Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I've started getting this error also but did the ol' schoolboy error of making two changes at the same time so can't tell you which one sorted this. Firstly try pushing the agent out with the client logged off. If this makes no difference then find the computer in AD and go to the delegation tab of it's properties. Change the current option from 'Do not trust this computer for delegation' to 'Trust this computer for delegation to any service (Kerberos only)' then reboot the computer and try deploying again. I'm not suggesting that you make this as a permanent change but the ‘computername.domain_internal_agent_install_log.txt’ log on the client has the entry: "The requested operation cannot be completed. The computer must be trusted for delegation and the current user account must be configured to allow delegation." There is a technet article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782684(v=ws.10).aspx) that addresses this issue and suggests the change above but not 100% sure of the repercussions of this in the long run. If this works for you then there's some consistency between us at least and may be the start of a currently unknown issue maybe!! 1
zclark Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Hi Randle, Thanks for the response. I have been away for a few days and in that time my colleague discovered it was Symantec AntiVirus on the client causing the issue. He uninstalled Symantec, deployed SIMS and then installed Symantec. Thanks for the suggestions though! 2
randle Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Ah interesting. I'll try this again with disabled AV. Thanks My suggestion came from the error in the SOLUS3 deployment log on the computer but may have been a red herring....
randle Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Just tested this again and this time round turns out simply logging off and deploying worked.... 1
SimonWindisch Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Uninstalled Sophos Antivirus and the install worked
wii747 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I just stop Sophos running from the task manager and then install it works fine.
blu4 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Bit late on this but I just had this issue and logging off and re-deploying solved it.
JRA Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 EVEN LATER on this but found that if restarting and redeploying produces slightly different errors, persistence with the "Reinstall Agent" button does install it after a few goes.
