gjefferies Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 The school I work at is looking to change print providers and Rioch is the front runner. Does anymore use them are their school? Thanks Gareth
nickbro Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We use them, but via Canda copying. No problems with this other than general maintainance needed on them. Got a MP 8001 (2 years old 3.5m copies) and a MP C5501 (2 years old 1.5m copies).
teejay Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Yes, have used them for about 5 years for our copiers, mfd's and printers. Overall they've been very good.
Oaktech Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 we have 4 lease aficio c430/1dn and they are not great for reliability, i've been here 3 weeks and had to call ricoh 3 times and had 2 engineer visits. Historically I can see we've had 9 printers from them swapped out as unfixable in 3 years.
localzuk Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We have 2 MFDs direct from Ricoh. They've been pretty good. A couple of glitches but a bit of shouting resolved it. I think most copier companies are the same - they all need shouting at occasionally. We run an MP C5502A and an MP 9002 both 18 months old, done 665k and 1.9m pages in that time each.
Edu-IT Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We've just moved to Ricoh and have 6 of their machines about the place. All positive so far.
RichCowell Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We've got a few of their devices, one direct with them, the others with Lynbrook, another managed print company... I'd never consider going direct with Ricoh again... their service has been appalling, right from the start, and have claimed to not have any record of things discussed initially with the rep that saw us... The one we've got direct with them is the copier in the main school office, and they mucked up and left the office without toner for 2 days... luckily Lynbrook stepped in and lent us one in the mean time, but as a result of everything, I've nothing good to say about their service... Their devices have been great though...

Their devices have been great though... Sadly, the "not having any record" thing is something I've experienced across the board with copier companies - I now am overly officious about the paperwork. I make sure every last detail of the deal is documented in writing before signing anything. It has served us well so far! One thing to note is that copier companies also seem to be a bit like courier companies - they vary wildly based on region. Before choosing who to go with, find people who use them in your area, with the same account manager etc...
DevilsAdvocate Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We have Ricoh (direct) and the devices for the most part have been very good. The eService portal however is pants. Luckily we very rarely use it other than to log issues thanks to the @ Remote toner ordering.
gjefferies Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks for your replies very useful....
