Memory card management and backup

Hi all

 

Its been a long while since I've been here but just wondered if anyone has any proven methods for:

 

1) managing memory cards from video cameras i.e. logging them in/out with teaching staff and storage of video files.

 

2) We also have a requirement (in HE) to keep recordings of student presentations and speaking test for quite some time and storage is an issue. Currently being just dumped on a 2Tb external drive (which is then not backed up !). I'm just concerned it is too easy for this to be damaged and the recording lost.

 

Any thoughts anyone ?
