CyberDrac Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I run LlamaLAN, and periodically attend StratLANs, i-Series, and epic.LANs ... it's my lifeblood
ataylor Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 Epic 6 was my first Lan, I plan on attending Iseries every summer and TFF + Lanops for my smaller lans. Kent is a little far for me!
visioN Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I went back in 2006 or 2007 to i27, competed in the CSS tournament, came a highly disappointing 3rd. (Could easily have won if not for extenuating circumstances) Used to be a counter strike addict, was pretty damn good at it at one point too. Not something i'd repeat given the chance to redo those years though. I do love a good casual lan party though, had a couple of little ones with friends, many years ago, but sadly nothing in the past 9 years or so beside i27 EDIT; I'd love to play TF2 at a small lan party, could see that being a great laugh with two teams of 8-10 @mrbios What was your CS alias? What were your CS clans?
CyberDrac Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 First non-LlamaLAN LAN was i10 ... which makes me feel very old
mrbios Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 @mrbios What was your CS alias? What were your CS clans? Bios was my alias Was in reason-gaming at i27, in the team that was previously known as foxy, and later inspire. Also been in Auxilia, Surrender?Unlikely, Cult_of (Going waaay back) and DeMent (Again waaay back) and a small stint with the resurgence of intrinsic (we got ranked top 5 UK in a cadred news post after being around for a just week with that lineup lol, although not as spectacular as it sounds considering the UK scene was pretty dire at the time). In my post keen bean days i was in random5 with a bunch of other old timers, we won the first ever enemydown TF2 cup too

I played 1.6 religiously, usually competing in leagues such as SGL, CSGN etc!

Ah this was counterstike source mind you, i only played 1.6 casually and even then only during the 1.6 era, never the previous versions (Though i wish i'd played 1.3 as, from what i was told, it sounded rather fun!). The release of CSGO really killed all enjoyment of CS as a series for me though, it's like playing COD
Sdrawkcab Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I remember this place! I went there for the City of Heroes event and it was a blast! Sad it closed down as I'd have definitely gone back for another visit. I was also at that exact event! Which one were you? I was the one who co-ran the awful pub quiz and wrote all the good questions. Looking back, I wish I hadn't taken part in the task force competition they were running that weekend. My team came third overall (behind the french and the germans haha) but we spent literally the entire weekend just playing the game, and then we all had a falling out on the last day which meant we never finished the final TF. My most vivid memory from that weekend was when Rockjaw blew everyone away with his vocal performance on Rock Band. He still claims he can't sing, but I know otherwise!
denzal2k4 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I took part in i19 and i21, they were great events...from what I can remember day 1 usually involved getting familiar with the bar! My games were Day of Defeat, CS, C&C Generals and BF1942. My clans were [nWo] and then [sCOT], happy memories but as others have said maybe would redo those years differently if I got the chance.
synaesthesia Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Tried playing CS:S recently? The remaining servers are mostly some crap mod resembling skiing or hotwheels racing. Prefer Quake Live personally, fond of Bioshock, Wolf New Order etc. Waiting GTAV and HL3.
