Hi de ho,

We need 3 laptops/netbooks, two for our caretakers to just do general email and check CCTV and one for one of your Read Recovery people for general teacher work. Around 11-13in, well built, good battery life etc. Budget of around £400 per machine, I'm sure there's something out there that'll do the job and be a little bit cheaper. Oh, must be Windows based/

So, anything out there worth a thumbs up?

Cheers

Hi @rickjames,

If they're for your caretakers, how about something nice and ruggedized with an inbuilt carry handle like the VeryPC Intel Classmate Netbook; https://www.very-pc.co.uk/products/laptop/classmate-netbook They're well within your budget and more than meet your buying critera. If you'd like a quote feel free to email me and I'll look after you.

Best,

Are those Thinkpad XE140's? We already two trolley's full. Thinking about it those keyboards with big hands are likely to drive them insane, they certainly get to me after a few minutes.

Maybe 13" would be a better idea.

OK, let's do this!

Why not treat them to a 15.6" Intel bay-trail M powered VeryPC Thinbook @rickjames? The battery life is incredible, it has a large screen, is lightweight and has a full size keyboard.

https://www.very-pc.co.uk/products/laptop/thinbook

For the following specification configured to order;

Thinbook Bay-Trail M;

•15.6 inch Anti-Glare HD LED Backlit widescreen (1366*768) with 1MP HD webcam

•Intel® BAY-Trail® Quad Core Celeron N3520 (4 x 2.16GHz) 2MB Cache

•4GB DDR3 1600MHz SoDIMM (8GB Max)

•2.5” Kingston 120GB SATA 6 SSD

•9 in 1 card reader

•8x SATA DVD+/-R/RW/Dual layer (+24x CD-RW)

•Microsoft Windows 8.1 OEM

•Intel Wireless N-7260 Dual band 300Mpbs Wi-Fi

•30W 80+ Bronze Power supply (up to 9.5 hours)

•3 year Standard Fix Me Quick service with UK Helpdesk

£315 + VAT just for you.

And I'll skin them with your school branding like this one below for a fiver each, so people know who/where they belong to.

I'm out of stock of the chassis until the end of the month because they've proven so popular but I guarantee you'll make the caretakers' Christmas card list for life if you choose to give them these.

Hi Colin,

Had a quick look at your site. Do you only supply your own custom units, or do you supply standard OEM units too?

Hi Phil,

We do integrate our own desktops, laptops, servers, tablets etc. but we do supply other equipment from other vendors also (including a wide AV portfolio also!).

If you want to pop me a PM with what you are looking for / interested in and I can look into it for you.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi Phil,

We've supplied a lot of Fujitsu laptops (including the A544) to schools recently and they have been quite well received - good price / spec.

I'll include this in the info I am sending across Monday AM.

Thanks,

Ed
